Thoughts of Greece
Thoughts of Greece
This broadside was printed at Wild Carrot Letterpress, Hadley, MA, in an edition of 200 copies. The font is Papyrus on a thick textured white cover stock. The dimensions are 11.75” h x 16.25” w. The haiku are printed in black, the title in a Greek style clayish-red and the satryre in a green patina. Each color was hand-mixed and printed on a Heidelberg Windmill printing press The paper is acid-free and this broadside is suitable for framing. Limited edition and signed by author upon request.

These poems were written in Greece in 2004 while Stanford M. Forrester visited H. F. (Tom) Noyes and brought him the Sora Award on behalf of the Haiku Society of America. These seven poems are dedicated to Tom and were published in different publications between 2004-2005.

This broadside will be shipped in a heavy-duty tube so it arrives in pristine condition. $25.00 plus $5.00 for shipping in the USA, $7.00 for shipping to Canada or Mexico, and $10 for Japan and elsewhere.

Thoughts of Greece: Seven Haiku

forgotten temple . . .
a yellow flower
offers itself

ancient grove —
an orange falls
into its shadow

grains of sand . . .
each ant
a Sisyphus

a goldfinch flies
into blinding sun —
thoughts of Icarus

sunflower field —
playing hide-n-seek
with the cyclops

afternoon light . . .
a single bird singing
in the amphitheatre

cold Aegean sun —
the temple
half stone, half shadow
